In order to improve our service we have moved our local
Connecticut numbers to our national numbers system. The national numbers have been in use outside of Connecticut for many years and are just as fast if not faster than the current numbers and the equipment has proven to be more reliable with more numbers to choose from.

What do you have to do?
The connection number you use to connect needs to be changed and you need to add @cshore.com to your username.

Let's start with the phone number. Below is a list of all of the available Connecticut numbers, please make sure you choose a local number for your area. If you are unsure, call your operator and ask if the number is a toll free call for you. Some may need to keep the area code. Since you will only be modifying your existing settings, if the area code is in there already, please keep it so.

In addition to the phone number change, your connection username must be appended with @cshore.com.
So if your username reads now as john, make it read john@cshore.com.

Note: Your email address does not change but, please replace smtp.cshore.com with smtp.popsite.net for your outgoing email server with your email account's porperties.

In Outlook Express, go to TOOLS, then ACCOUNTS, then MAIL, then PROPERTIES, then SERVERS, change the SMTP server to read smtp.popsite.net.

In Outlook, go to TOOLS, then EMAIL ACCOUNTS, View or change existing email accounts, highlight your account and click CHANGE. Change the SMTP server to read smtp.popsite.net.

In Netscape or Firebird mail, go to EDIT, then PREFERENCES, then MAIL & NEWSGROUPS, then MAIL SERVERS, change the SMTP server to read smtp.popsite.net.

In Eudora, go to Tools to Options to Sending Mail, change the SMTP server to read smtp.popsite.net.

In Mac Mail, go to Mail to Preferences to Accounts, Edit Account.

Windows XP (Home and Pro)
If you have a shortcut to Cybershore on your desktop, open that and make the changes. After hitting Dial, Windows will ask you if you want the phone number change to be permanent.

Windows ME or 2000
If you have a shortcut to Cybershore on your desktop, open that and make the changes.

You may have to go to Start to Settings to Network and Dial up Connections (Dial Up Networking).

Find the Cybershore dial-up connection, Right Click it and choose Properties. You will see the phone number on the first page, then go to Security, if there is a place for username and password add @cshore.com to the username then click OK.

If the username and password are NOT on the security page, click OK anyway then double click the Cybershore connection and add @cshore.com to the username.

Windows 95 or 98
Open the My Computer icon on the desktop, open the folder named Dial up Networking, Right Click on the Cybershore connection, choose Properties, change the phone number, click OK. Now double click the Cybershore icon and add @cshore.com to the username, click connect.

Note: The username will not be saved until you have made the connection so, if it fails the first time you need to add @cshore.com to the username again until you do connect.

Mac OS 9
Open Remote Access like you always do, change the phone number and add @cshore.com to the username. Now go under the apple to Control Panel to PPP or TCP/IP. Look for the Nameservers or DNS add the following entries, place them at the top of the list please.

Close the window and it will ask you if you want to save, choose Yes.

Mac OS X (10, Jaguar, etc.)
Under the Apple, go to System Preferences to Network. On the TCP/IP tab add the following numbers to the top of the list of DNS servers.

Now go to the PPP tab. Change the phone number and add @cshore.com to the username. Click "Apply Now"
